I have always loved movement. My first yoga class in 1989 changed my life.

I studied on and off for many years. But whenever I drifted away from yoga I always found my way back.  Eventually I began the consistent and meaningful practice of yoga that has become one of the most important and defining parts of my life. In 2009 I became a certified Iyengar Yoga teacher and in 2019 received my Level 2/ Intermediate Junior II certification.  I am also a certified Yoga Therapist through the International Association of Yoga Therapists.

Kofi Busia, Carrie Owerko and Joan White have been particularly influential teachers. Holly Walck Kostura and Jessica Becker have generously guided me as well. I have also had the honor of studying with Geeta Iyengar and Abhijata Iyengar.

My background in movement was originally in dance and then Pilates, which I embraced in 1987 under master teacher Romana Kryzanowska. I went on to help train and certify many Pilates teachers both in New York City and in the Hudson Valley of New York. My passion for using movement to heal began while working in a physical therapy studio.  I had the privilege of teaching Pilates to professional dancers, including members of New York City Ballet, Paul Taylor Dance Company, and Dance Theater of Harlem, to help them overcome their injuries.

Yoga should not result in injury or harm. With rigorous but sensitive guidance I can assure my students' safety and help boost their strength and confidence. My intimate knowledge of anatomy and the nuances of the human body have equipped me to create a safe environment that promotes healing and health as well as serenity and joy.
