I have always loved movement.

My first yoga class in 1989 changed my life.

In 2009 I became a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher and in 2019 received my Level 2/Intermediate Junior II certification. My passion for helping people with injuries and life challenges inspired me to become a certified Yoga Therapist through the International Association of Yoga Therapists. Although all yoga is potentially therapeutic and healing, IAYT-certified yoga therapists specifically apply yoga tools—postures/exercises, breathwork, meditation techniques, and more—to address the individual‘s physical, mental, and emotional needs.

My primary teachers include Kofi Busia, Carrie Owerko, Lois Steinberg, Holly Walck Kostura and Jessica Becker. I have also had the honor of studying with Geeta Iyengar and Abhijata Iyengar.

My background in movement was originally in dance and then Pilates, which I embraced in 1987 under master teacher Romana Kryzanowska. I went on to help train and certify many Pilates teachers both in New York City and in New York’s Hudson Valley. I began using movement to heal began while working in a physical therapy studio. I had the privilege of teaching Pilates to professional dancers, including members of New York City Ballet, Paul Taylor Dance Company, and Dance Theater of Harlem.
